The Zoo Society’s 2009 Annual Meeting was this past Saturday (May 22). So far the feedback has been positive but if you were in attendance, please let me know your thoughts. We try to keep it diverse and interesting but this is one of the only opportunities to thank all our volunteers, so that is a priority, as well as electing new Board Members. Next year, the suggestion was made to have a Q & A at the end. Good idea?

While I was standing outside the new Snow Leopard Exhibit on Saturday (May 15), I heard lots of parents and kids saying they were disappointed to not see the snow leopards. It was just on the news and in the paper that they had arrived but alas, they were not on exhibit. Well, they are and were in the exhibit but they were hiding from all of us! I found out that they were hiding behind the rocks in the back of the exhibit on Saturday and on Friday, they were hiding in the log. Do you see those two faces peering out of the log in the photo to the right? So it will be hit or miss to see the snow leopards. It might take them a while to get used to Rochester, NY.
