Developing your safari!

As many of you know, we are working on the educational pieces for A Step Into Africa. Some signage is scientific like the sign to your right about digging for fossils. However, there are other signs for kids who aren’t quite at the reading age.

As a way to engage our younger audiences, we have developed a safari guide and his sidekick, Crowned Crane. These two stationary figures will be placed in eight locations around the exhibit, encouraging kids to keep traveling on the path, go up the 2nd floor of the Safari Bus or look at bit closer at the lions. My favorite is when Crowned Crane is contemplating, while he looks at the baboons, if he too is a primate?

It’s all educational and we are striving to meet everyone on a level that will engage and inspire them!
